About Us

The Indian International Institute for Art Therapy and Research is dedicated to the introduction and development of art therapy in India. Our art therapy course provides an introduction for diverse groups of people to begin formal graduate-level studies in Art Therapy. Our team along with art therapists, psychotherapists, and artists, have designed this course for the unique benefit of individual students, with online intense face to face study and in-person classes (for a prescribed number of days and hours). We also organize workshops, seminars and conferences to raise awareness about the profession of art therapy in India, and to provide for networking and sharing among students and experts in the field for the promotion of professional art therapy practice and research.

The persisting challenge in India is that art therapy programs keep popping up in every corner of our country, where many of the facilitators are not trained at all, and very few are fully trained. In Canada and the United States, a master’s level training program is required to work as an art therapist or an expressive arts therapist. Though registration and credentials may vary from country to country of qualified professionals, there is an essential requirement to differentiate between therapeutic art activity which is conducted by artists, art tutors etc., and treatment provided by art therapists.
